Lyonaux Courliemont. Only child of the late Jean-Paltroix and Emellie de Courliemont. Once of a lesser noble house under the Haillenarte banner, at a yet-grown age, Lyon's world would spiral out of control.
What became of the Courliemonts, for Lyon to find himself in a war-ravaged cityscape all on his own? What circumstances occurred to find himself under another house's banner? And why will he not speak of his past so, growing distant at the very thought?

When one thinks of Ishgard, many would point to a variety of factors that define the Holy See. The harsh climate of a winter eternal, the towering architecture that seems a monument to the Heavens Themselves, the people hardened by countless years of war, and tempered further in the unforgiving snows. Yet, amidst the landscapes that threaten to freeze the blood, and bleed out the most stalwart of men, there is a certain beauty to be found.
Lyonaux is a man that was forged to take to the skies. A veteran of the Dragonsong War, surviving miraculously without a single scar, nor with a story to tell. The Ishgardian native seems hesitant to talk about practically anything of his past; be it family, bonds, or services rendered. If asked, it seems more than anything that Lyonaux wishes to leave the legacy borne within his homeland to the ghosts.
The man, instead, now seeks to etch out a new story for himself; one bereft of the horrors of war, in a land where the snow only touches the lands a quarter of the year. A passionate hobbyist to the arts at large, Lyonaux will most certainly be out in the areas for the next burst of inspiration. A painting out in the forests to capture the sun's beauty with perspective, a casual sit near a river as he sketches with charcoal, a viewing of a show in the famed Mih Khetto's Amphitheater with a gentle heart.
You won't find a more gentle, amicable man in the Black Shroud than that of a man who's known hardships innumerable. Yet tread your words carefully, lest prying inclinations be met with a grimace, or a thousand-yard stare. For the past has been etched in stone, yet the future flows like sand between the fingers.
Lyonaux often finds himself in the Black Shroud, and subsequently Gridania, the most out of all of Eorzea. Whether it be within the markets, perusing fresh produce to figure out his next culinary endeavor, or by the waters to sketch out a scene before his mind's eye, you're like to find him somewhere about this woodland society.
Despite desiring a more peaceful lifestyle now, there's no denying the Ishgardian in the man. Ever does he seek to keep himself honed to his abilities and skills as a Dragoon, taking every duel as a chance to see where he flourishes, and where he falters. It likely won't take too much coercion to get a fight out of the man, as long as it's on friendly terms.
While not so completely incapable as, say, a Garlean, Lyonaux seems to have limited capabilities when it comes to aetheric manipulation. Outside of trained physical manifestations that most any Dragoon should know, he seems incapable of most any form of magics; the most damning being a complete lack of teleportation capabilities. As such, the man will be seen walking instead of using Aethernets, or riding long boat or airship trips to lands more distant... if he doesn't let his stomach dissuade him.
Despite a fit and lean form like many Elezens have, Lyonaux clearly has an appetite that can put even fully grown, sea-faring Roegadyn to shame. He'll often order something edible multiple times while out, or take some sort of snack with him. Indeed, it seems like nothing truly satiates the man, even should he eat something more heavy like meats or stews. Sometimes it seems to get so bad, he trembles as if starved...
There's no denying the man is kind and his demeanor polite. Yet, there's something strange about his aether, as if it's not quite... right. Depending on the person's intelligence on such matters, it may be more or less apparent to certain individuals, but regardless, it almost feels like something dark is looming over Lyonaux.

The name's Edwynn! I'm a 30 year old dude [He/Him] that's trying his best to get out of his writing ruts, and to flourish not just creatively, but socially and physically, as well!
I started playing the game in July 24, 2019, after having been a WoW player for a few years, and had been growing increasingly more disappointed with every update WoW gave. After deciding to give FFXIV a try, I simply haven't looked back; I have thousands of hours in the game, and find much joy in doing a multitude of things; one of which, of course, being Roleplay!
For a while, I didn't partake in the RP scene, as I had issues thinking of Lyonaux as anything but someone important to the main story of FFXIV. But, over time, as I made more friends and interacted with more people, I began to grow Lyonaux out anew; keeping some of his backstory, but ensuring in works outside of the established story of the game!
While I still have much to learn, as much of my RP experience is Discord/Long Form based, I'm enjoying learning how to actively RP in a game scenario. And I hope to get to meet more people along the way, as well as further improve upon my writing!
I'm not the best with walk-up RP, unless I'm already in an RP venue setting. As such, I do request, should you have an interest in interacting with my character out in the open, to ask first!
Casual RP is usually fine! For darker or more triggering themes, however, please ask.
I will absolutely not tolerate any sort of Queerphobia in RP. In a great big fantasy world, choosing that to be the overarching conflict doesn't sit very well with me.
I may be easier to get ahold of in Discord, especially if I'm doing a lot of duties back to back. Feel free to ask for my handle!
I'm usually all over the place, so it may be hard to find me in-game on a whim. Send me a tell if your curious about anything!
